Day 1: We made it!
This morning at 4.30am 34 eager Year 12s braved the
early morning wake up to arrive promptly for our departure (well almost everyone….Jamie
Watson may need personal wake up calls from now on).
Upon arriving in Brisbane we had a quick transition over to
the International Terminal, before successfully clearing customs and getting ready to board
our second flight of the day to our destination, Christchurch, New Zealand.
We were in awe of the cool
weather (160c) and green scenery that greeted us. The final leg of
the journey was our bus trip to our new home "Ski Time Lodge" in the cosy town
of Methen.
Our weary and tired travellers were keen to get settled into their very ritzy ski lodge accommodation. Dinner was a two course table serviced
meal; however our night was still not over.
After dinner we made our way down to get fitted with our ski
gear. The highlight of which was definitely meeting the Dulux dog affectionately
known as "Wiz".
With all travellers sufficiently fed, walked, decked out in
the latest ski gear and exhausted, bedtime was certainly welcomed.
See you all tomorrow!
